Language Assessments
GLS (German Language School – Berlin) is one of Germany’s leading language education providers, serving students from around the world through a diverse portfolio of language programs. As the organization continued to grow, managing assessments became increasingly time-consuming, with administrative tasks extending well beyond the tests themselves.
The team needed a solution that could simplify the entire assessment lifecycle—from sending invitations and managing candidates to transferring results into internal systems—while maintaining flexibility across languages and existing workflows.
GLS implemented Hallo to streamline assessment operations and reduce manual administration across the organization.
A major advantage was Hallo’s ability to integrate directly with GLS’s existing systems. Personalized invitation links could be sent automatically, assessment results could flow directly into the school’s internal platform, and administrative tasks that previously required hands-on management became automated.
As Bjanka Zafirovska explains, “The convenience of having the API, the invitation links being sent out automatically and personalized, and the results being automatically transferred into our school system” significantly reduced the amount of manual coordination required from staff.
Language coverage also played an important role in the decision. GLS currently uses Hallo for German and English assessments and values the ability to expand into additional languages in the future without introducing new vendors or operational complexity.
The greatest impact for GLS was the transformation of the operational processes surrounding assessments.
“The whole course management behind it is way more efficient since using Hallo.”
— Bjanka Zafirovska, GLS
By automating invitations, results delivery, and data transfers, GLS removed friction from day-to-day administration and reduced the amount of manual work required from staff. Assessment workflows that once relied on coordination across multiple systems became centralized and largely automated.
These efficiency gains translated into measurable business value. GLS estimates approximately $11,600 USD in annual savings, driven by lower administrative overhead and improved operational efficiency.
Today, Hallo serves as more than an assessment platform for GLS. It functions as a core part of the school’s operational infrastructure, helping automate assessment delivery, simplify course management, and support continued growth while keeping administrative workload under control.
