Support

Yes. Both teachers and students can use our web app at app.hallo.tv. We recommend that teachers teach their scheduled lessons on the web app so they can share the screen and go over their curriculum.

If you find any technical issues or bugs, please follow the process below:

  1. Check the resource page
  2. Log out and log back into your account.
  3. Update the app.
  4. Email us at teacher@hallo.tv
  5. Please submit information on this form.

Please give us 3 – 5 business days to respond. Our team wants to give you a special thanks for your patience. We are still developing our platform and we need your support and understanding. By reporting bugs, you can help us improve our product and be a part of making Hallo an app that will change the future of language learning.

To log back into an active Hallo account, you can go to the Login page and sign in with the same information you used to create your account. Here, you need to remember which option you used to create your account. Did you use Facebook? Did you use your phone number?

If the app asks you for your personal information again, then you know that you need to find the login option you used. If you are still having trouble with logging in, please email us at teacher@hallo.tv. We will be able to tell you which email/phone number you signed in with or if you signed in with Facebook/ Google. We will not be able to tell you any protected passwords under Facebook/Google.

Tip: You cannot log back into a deleted account.

Hallo is always trying to keep the platform safe and pleasant for everyone, and in order to make that happen, we need help from our community members. If teachers receive inappropriate messages from students, they should go to the profile page to block that student and then report them. Once a student is blocked, you are no longer able to see and interact with each other. We review reports everyday and suspend or permanently ban users that violate our code of conduct.

Teachers can go to a user’s profile page and click on the setting icon at the top right corner to find the option to report or block them.

If teachers see inappropriate comments in their classes, they can long press a comment of the student to block it.

Once a student is blocked, teachers are no longer able to see and interact with the student. If users are blocked, they are no longer able to see and interact with each other. At Hallo, we review reports everyday and suspend or permanently ban users that violate our code of conduct.

To protect the integrity of our community, as the provider of the service, Hallo reserves the right to suspend or ban any account at any time for any conduct that we determine to be inappropriate or harmful.

Such actions may include: removal of content and/or messages, revocation of admin/tutor/teacher status, ban of account(s), and/or suspension of account(s).

All suspensions are binding until expiration or removal upon appeal. Any attempt to circumvent an account suspension or chat ban by using other accounts, identities, personalities, or presence on another user’s account will also result in suspension. Suspension evasion will not only increase the length of suspension, but may lead to an indefinite ban.

Actions that lead to automatic suspension include: using a bad word more than three times, using Hallo for purposes unrelated to language learning, and consistently using languages other than English.

Hallo admins review every account and appeal. Generally, if it’s not a major breach, the user will be automatically unsuspended after 3 days.

At Hallo, we are proud to uphold a safe environment for every language learner at any age with any background.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hallo reserves the right, without notice and in our sole discretion, to revoke your teacher status and remove you as a teacher from the Hallo Services. This will include where we reasonably consider that you do not meet the following criteria:

  • Keep your schedules active and open
  • Have an up-to-date teacher bio, profile picture, intro video, resume, and expertise
  • Come dressed for success, covered shoulders and modest clean dress
  • Be present in class with your camera on and share your screen with materials
  • Keep students on Hallo – do not teach Hallo students on other platforms
  • Be professional and kind with Hallo management, fellow teachers, and students
  • Have the correct payment information and qualifications
  • At any time, if your teacher account is revoked, your Hallo account and your following will still remain intact

If you would still like to teach on Hallo, please submit a new teacher application to hallo.tv/application. Your Hallo account and your following should still be intact even with a student’s account, and if you reapply to be a tutor/teacher you can choose to reapply with the same account. We would love to reconsider you and hopefully help you get on-boarded again as a teacher if Hallo becomes the right fit for you again.
